Brisbane Cycling Festival
The Brisbane Cycling Festival rides into the city for the first time in March-April 2019. The festival will include a unique range of professional, amateur and mass-participation events for riders of all levels and offer fans the chance to see some of the world’s top riders in action.
Australian Youth Water Polo Championships
The Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will be held in Brisbane in 2019 and is the newest event of the national water polo calendar. The inaugural event will be held in January 2019, bringing together more than 3000 water polo club members with more than 190 teams expected to line up. More than just a water polo competition, the two-week event will celebrate the sport across multiple events and activities for the whole community.
The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT9)
The hugely ambitious APT series returns to QAGOMA this summer, bringing significant art from across the Asia Pacific to Brisbane. Overflowing with colour and life, this free contemporary art exhibition presents a unique mix of creativity and cross-cultural insight. Featuring more than 80 artists and groups from over 30 countries, APT9 challenges conventional definitions of contemporary art by asking us to consider its relationship to shifting social structures across the region.
